Introduction

Matching your bits to the color of your avatar's fur is something pretty much everyone will want to do at first. If you have issues getting the color just right, then here are some helpers on how to get your color just right.

Coloring your bits

First of all, there are two ways of coloring your bits. Either by using the color picker that's built into the HUD or by using the text commands.

Using the HUD

The HUD is the more simpler way of changing your bits colors, however if you want fine detail then it is recommended to use commands.

  • Attach your PsiCorp Bits HUD to your Viewer's HUD.
  • Select "Settings" from the HUD.
  • Under "Texture" select the "bit" you want to color (or texture). You can also choose which part of the bits (eg. shaft, condom, flesh, fur, etc.)
  • Once selected, play around with the color picker until you find the color you want.

If you are after finer detail, the continue reading below.

Using Commands

Below you will find a list of commands you can use to colorize the different parts of your bits, followed by some hints on how to get a better color match for your avatar.

Please keep in mind that, when using these commands, RGB stands for Reg, Green and Blue. In the real world these range from 0 to 255. However Second Life is between 0 to 1.

Penis commands:

  • /5 color shaft R G B
  • /5 color sheath R G B
  • /5 color condom R G B
  • /5 color cumcover R G B
  • /5 color lovejuice R G B

Vagina commands:

  • /5 vag color flesh R G B
  • /5 vag color fur R G B

Tailhole commands:

  • /5 tail color flesh R G B
  • /5 tail color fur R G B

Convert 0-255 to 0-1

If you've got colors in the 0-255 RGB range, then you will need to convert them to Second Life's 0-1 color range. You can do this by:

  • Find a Calculator or use your Computer's in-built calculator.
  • Using the RGB (255) value, divide the number by 255. This will give you the value to use in Second Life. (Yes it may be a very long number).
    Example: Real RGB <255, 120, 100> translates to Second Life's RGB <1, 0.47, 0.39>

Getting a better color match

If you have trouble matching the color with the HUD color picker, then this method might help you.

  1. First, get on a posing stand and get naked.
  2. Create a sphere prim and set it's texture to blank white.
  3. Shrink it down to about 0.05 meters and position it at your crotch.
  4. Use Second Life's color picker and play with it until you have a nice match.
  5. Once you have it, write down the Second Life RGB value, and use it to colorize your bits in the right color.
  6. Then use the above text commands to change your color.
